| 1 | This man, named Marks, was the grandson of Joseph Marks, cooper of Llandyfaelog, and uncle to the painter Henry Stacey Marks, R.A. He went to Poland, married a Polish lady and is said to have witnessed the fall of Warsaw to the Russians before fleeing the country. He kept a school at the Quaker Meeting House in Lammas Street, Carmarthen before it was taken over by Evan Donard Evans, father of Alcwyn Evans. |
