Letter's to the Editor - should addresses of contributors to "Letter's to the Editor" be published?

The original booklets published address information. I'm sure that the contributors to the Letter's to the Editor section did not have the web in mind when they contributed their letters to the Historian's editor. So, can this information be published on the web today? The Data Protection Law may prohibit the electronic storage (and susequent publishing) of such data without prior consent from the owner. I'm not sure how relevent names and addresses from the 60's & 70's are today? If you are an expert in this area of the law and are willing to advise then I would very much like to hear from you.
